CHRISTIAN GONZALEZ BREAKS HIS SILENCE ON STEFON DIGGS & BARMORE DRAMA
It has been a terrific 2025 NFL season so far for the New England Patriots, but it hasn’t been entirely rosy — especially off the field of late, as two of their best players are facing legal troubles.

Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs is facing a felony charge of strangulation and a misdemeanor charge due to an alleged incident that happened on Dec. 2. According to a police report, a woman alleges that Diggs struck her in the face during a dispute over money.
Like Diggs, New England defensive tackle Christian Barmore is in legal hot water, as he is facing a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery. According to the police, Barmore allegedly threw a woman to the ground on Aug. 8.
While these situations involving Diggs and Barmore could throw off the focus of the Patriots on the field, New England cornerback Christian Gonzalez doesn’t seem to be distracted by it, as the team prepares to take on the Miami Dolphins on Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.
“We’re ready for Miami,” Gonzalez said when he fielded questions about the allegations against Diggs and Barmore.
Patriots fans might find Gonzalez’s response a bit familiar, as it carried the same tone that former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick had during a 2014 press conference. Following a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4 of that season, Belichick said, “We’re onto Cincinnati,” during the postgame press conference, referring to the game ahead of the Pats’ schedule.
In a way, that’s the same message Gonzalez sent, as the Patriots look to finish the season strong — and perhaps with the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
A New England win over the Dolphins and a Denver Broncos loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 18 would give the Patriots the top seed in the conference and home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.
