There’s no scientific evidence that the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has discovered a “city-like structure” inside the interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS.

Here’s what’s actually known:

3I/ATLAS is an interstellar comet that entered our solar system in 2024, the second such object after ʻOumuamua.

Its observed properties — coma, tail, brightness changes — are consistent with natural cometary activity.

JWST has been used to study comets and interstellar objects, providing data on their chemical composition and structure. But published JWST studies report typical cometary features (dust, volatile ices), not artificial “structures.”

Claims of “city-like structures” are circulating mainly in sensational YouTube videos and tabloids, not in peer-reviewed science or NASA releases.
